Justin's 1st day of School

Aren't we done yet?...... We are just beginning. Justin started back to school on Wednesday. He only got a week off between Anatomy and Fall semester. Justin's first day of school was a little more crazy because I had to go to work which means, the girls have to be ready and so do I before I have to leave for work. Justin drops them off at babysitters before he leaves for school so they still have time to eat breakfast after I leave. I did manage to make sure I got his picture taken before I left. He unforunately didn't put his teeth in until after the picture was taken.

Allie's 1st Day of School

2nd grade.... Is it possible??? Allie started school last week. We woke the girls up early so they could go running with me before school started. When we got home Justin made blueberry waffles while I did Allie's hair. Allie has two teachers this year. She has Mrs. Thomas in the morning and Mrs Stapel for PM. Allie came home from school on the first day and said, I had so much fun I didn't even want to come home. By little girl is growing up.

Day of Donuts

As the weekend approached we were deciding what we wanted to make for our treat. Justin said I want to try and make donuts. We found a recipe on the internet. They were pretty good. We decided this recipe was keeper and we will definately be trying these again. Aubrie can't wait to sink her teeth into one of her daddy's delicious donuts.

Surprise Vacation

My dear sweet co-worker called me one day and said, "You need to take your family on vacation." I laughed and thought and how am I suppose to do that. She said, "I am renting you a condo with our timeshare for Monday, August 16th. It is up in Midway. I argued with her that she couldn't do that but she insisted. I told Justin and we(mostly I) decided that it would be fun to keep it a secret from the girls and just show up. It turned out to be a great surprise and they couldn't believe that we got to stay overnight. After we checked in we went the around the road and saw this. We were pretty high on the mountain. We left after work on Monday and stopped and got Subs to eat when we got there. We enjoyed dinner on the Patio. The girls loved that they each got their own twin size bed. The girls share a bed at home so they thought that was the coolest thing. Aubrie somehow always manages to think that the "KING" size bed should be for her. I knew they had movies so I brought popcorn and licorice. The girls watched some Barbie movie and Justin and I watched The ToothFairy. Because the condo had a full kitchen, we decided to bring our own food for breakfast. We again enjoyed the beautiful morning eating breakfast on the Patio. After breakfast we went to the pool and went swimming. The girls had a ball. It was around 9:30 and we had the place to ourselves. A vacation for our family would not be a vacation unless two things were involved. BIKES and ICE CREAM...... Midway is so beautiful we thought we would take our bikes up and go for a ride on Tuesday afternoon. I found a "FAMILY FRIENDLY" bike trail. HA HA HA HA!!!! We drove to where this trail was and realized it was a dirt trail. Not a good idea with two Walmart kid bikes. But of course we tried. The only problem was that we went the wrong way. We went the back way and by the time we finally got on the right trail, Aubrie was done. Justin took Allie and made it around to the start. I really admire Allie. She is very determined and stubborn just like her dad. Aubrie and I well we just know better things are coming.... Ice Cream Shakes at Granny's in Heber. Could she be any cleaner!!!! So THANK YOU RUTH!!! for another great memory for my family.

We all Survived!!!

Believe or Not??? We all Survived! Justin just finished his 7 week Summer semester of Anatomy. Not only did he finished it but he came through brilliantly.... I really couldn't be any prouder!!! He got an A. An A that he worked extremely hard for. Justin is a pretty dedicated person but this was to the extreme!! I think I have been holding my breathe since Saturday's final. This morning when I saw his A posted on his Final Grade it was like a huge sigh of relief!!! I can finally take a deep breathe. He did it!! He passed!!! He got an A!!! and most important we all survived!!! What a great moment for all of us to shout HOORAY!! from the rooftop!! As Lou Gehrig's says, "Today, I consider myself the luckiest man (women) on the face of the earth!" We SURVIVED UVU Anatomy Class!!! Here's to Justin and another great step on his road to great things!!! Glad to be "Walking Home with You"!!!!

Celebrate Good Times... Come on!

Saturday August 14th was a great day of Celebration in our Family. A few weeks before we decided that we would celebrate this day by going to Brick Oven for dinner. Today I celebrated Justin and I being married for 12 years. Allie celebrated getting a Tiger Pride during school and her parents finally taking her to receive her award. Justin celebrated by passing his Anatomy Class. And Aubrie...... well here how the story went. I told Aubrie that she needed to decide what she was going to celebrate today. She told me that she would tell me at dinner and wanted it to be a surprise. We played into and had a good time with it. When we got to Brick Oven I said Ok Aubrie what are you going to celebrate. She said, she would tell us in a minute. I went and got my salad and came back. I said Ok, it's time to tell. She said, "I want to celebrate going to a Movie Theater." RANDOM!!!! We kind of laughed and then she said "Tonight". I really love to go to movies but since having kids we don't go very often. Justin doesn't really like to go to movies which is rather funny since our first 3 dates were movies. In my silly thinking, I thought maybe he got us tickets or something. So I said, "Did you get movie tickets for tonight?" Thinking that is why Aubrie had said this. He said, "No, did you?" "NO". So out of nowhere Aubrie decided to celebrate Movie Theaters. After dinner, I said, "What if we just go see what's playing at the dollar show." So we all decided that we would celebrate with Aubrie and went and saw "How to train your dragon." When we got in the car I asked Justin did you like the movie. He said What was not to like.... Flying a dragon, fighting and getting the girl that is every boys fantasy. What a great day of Celebrating!!

Daddy couldn't be prouder!

The other day we had to replace something. Now usually when it comes to kid things no one wants to replace things because it usually means it is broken or ruined. This would be the exception to the rule. This is Allie's front bike tire. She wore clear through. Daddy was so proud!!!

Ice Cream makes saying Goodbye easier

Our dear friends left August 1st to move to Louisana to go to school. We watched the kids a couple of days before they left so that Christy could pack. The kids decided to have ice cream cones for a going away party.

Water Party

Papa and Maama invited us for the first annual water party. We had great food and lots of fun. The kiddos had a blast playing in the irrigation and getting wet. Papa told them to bring their water squirters and be prepared to get wet. Papa was not quite prepared for Aubrie's water squirter. Papa was a great sport!! Especially because he always has one bigger and better idea than the kids. Allie sneaked around the van and was about two seconds away from throwing the bucket of water on Papa without him noticing and then Xander said something and he turned around better luck next time Allie! Papa's bigger and better idea..... Run Allie Run! It is a tradition whenever homemade Ice Cream is made Justin gets to lick the ice cream "thing" (not sure what we call it) Justin has always been the Tranchells food disposal. He will eat anything and everything. Thanks for the great day Papa and Maama.

What are you passionate about?

What are you passionate about? I have tried for several years to be passionate about biking, running and exercising. Even though I have learned to love these things, I am really passionate about cooking and eating. Whenever I think about holidays, weekends, things to do with the girls I think what are we going to cook or eat. Of course this would be ok but when my brain thinks it is usually cakes, cookies, candies, breads and really comforting casseroles or soup. Can you see the problem here? So I made a new goal that has worked for me I can only have treats or comfort foods Saturday night and Sunday. It has worked for the last year. For the last several months we have been biking a lot (past blog entries will prove it) so this weekend I gave in to my passion and we cooked. Saturday night after biking for 4 miles we came home and made homemade pizza YUM!! I have been wanting chocolate chip cookies. YUM again! Justin decided he wanted Sugar Cookies so we made a 1/2 batch. When we got home from church I decided to make some homemade Pretzels for a lady in our ward who just had a baby. So then I decided I found a solution to my baking craze if I just make things eat one or being honest two or three then give all the rest away I will be able to keep doing what I am passionate about and I will still be able to bike with my family. So if anyone wants a treat please let me know. Baking will resume next Saturday night.

Tranchell Tour De Whiting

We didn't have anything really planned for the 24th of July. I knew Justin needed to study and we really needed to weed the garden. We found out that irrigation was coming the night before so we wouldn't be able to weed. So I suggested that it was finally time to conquer the dreaded HILL!!!!! A few years ago Justin took us on a bike ride up Whiting's Campground. I hated the whole experience and ended up walking my bike up most of the time. Anytime Justin suggests going on a bike ride he suggests there. I always give him the look so he was Shocked when I suggested that we try Whiting's Campground again for the 24th of July. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I decided to go running first with my friend Christy who is moving next week to Louisana. Wrong Choice! We left around 8:30 and got home around 11:00. It is about a 14 mile ride. This is a picture of the top of the first hill! Which in my opinion is the hardest. Being proud of Allie is an understatment. I still couldn't make it up the hills without walking but Miss Allie made it up each hill and was the first to make it to the top of each hill. She is incredible and I hope one day that she and her dad can do a Triathlon or a bike race together. Hills Allie conquered today!! So we celebrate the Pioneer children who walked and walked and walked by the Tranchell children biking and biking and biking. We made it to the TOP!!! On the way down! The best and only great part of Whiting's Campground bike ride is the ride down. It is incredible and so enjoyable. Allie and Aubrie just flew down the mountain. The Tranchells new bike trick!
