Art City Days

It has been our tradition since Allie was 2 to go to the carnival during Art City Days. We used to go after the parade but the last two years we have went on Family Night which is Wednesday to save money! This year was great the rides were only 1 ticket and the tickets were only 50 cents! We spent a whoppin $5.00 and spent the evening having a blast together. Although, I have to admit the carnival was a little boring after being at Disneyland this year! This is a dragon rollercoaster for kids. We went on it with the girls. It was fun to be in their excitement. I think Justin looks a little scared! Allie was so excited while we were waiting in line a kindergarten friend came behind us. Allie gets so excited when she see her classmates around! She got to ride the Carousel with her. This year, Justin wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel. I was a little scared but when we approached the ride the line was so long that Justin said Never mind. So we went on this ride instead. I love rollercoaster and spinning and everything else that goes with an amusement park but my stomach actually did a few flip flops. It takes you up in the air and then drops you to the left and then you go back up and it will drop you to the right. Aubrie was scared at first but Justin said isn't this fun and then she got right into it. Allie and I just screamed the whole time which was fun for us!

The Tooth Fairy visits again

Allie lost another tooth. She finally lost one on top. This is her 5 tooth! This one was wiggly since the middle of May.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Since Laralynn works in the Temple Department, we were able to attend the Open House, on a day reserved for those who work in the Temple Department and their families. Karalee and Brett and Laralynn's sweet friend Jana came with us. They offered Karalee a ride in the golf carts and so the girls jumped on with her. We tried to take a family picture at the temple. Here is only two of a whole photo shoot of just trying to get "ONE" of us all looking. My Goofy Girls. My sister took these pictures of Justin. We kept taking more and more pictures trying to get him to smile. What's Justin thinking? How long would it take me to ride my bike up that mountain? He is a little rough around the edges but he has such a big heart. Most people don't really know the Justin I know. He can come across very cold and quiet but he is actually pretty funny. He loves to tease us. He would give his shirt off his back for someone. He is always serving someone. He is a hard worker and gives 110%, even when you only want 100%. He tries to keep us on the straight and narrow even if I want to take a short cut! He fulfills his responsibilities! He is very thoughtful and remembers the little things. He loves life! He loves to work and he loves to play! He is a great dad! He loves to tell the girls stories. They soak up every word. He loves to teach them. He loves to play with them. He is a great guy!

Hurricane Cementery

Since we have been taking flowers and balloons to my mom's grave, I have showed the girl's where Grandma Ardith Ellen Hatfield was buried. This is who Aubrie Ellen is named after. I thought it was neat that they have the same starting initals, anyway Allie kept asking when she could see where Grandma Allie was buried. We decided to make a detour through Hurricane and find Grandma Allie's grave. After a phone call and a desperate prayer to find it,due the lack of light, we were able to find it. It is tucked away between two big shrubs! What a neat experience it was for Allie. On Sunday, we got out the book that Grams made and I read more about Grandma Allie to Allie. Grandma Allie is a real inspiration to me. She lost her leg due to an infection when she was only 26. Then only 10 years later, her husband died. She raised 3 amazing children and later served an LDS Mission. There is much more to her story but I hope that Allie continues to learned what a great women she is named after.

On our way home

We had a minor challenge before we could get off on our way home. When we were loading at the hotel we noticed a screw in our tire. When we left we stopped at Walmart to have our tire fixed before the long journey home. They told us it would be about 40 minutes, so we walked around and went and got lunch. By the time we returned it was almost 2:00. Thankfully the screw had not punctured through and they were able to fix it in 5 minutes. So unfortunately we wondered for over 40 minutes for nothing. I guess it worked because once the girls got in the van they were out til Flagstaff. It took us a lot longer to get home because we ended up stopping a few more times but I would have to say we "Enjoyed the Journey". Bridge over the Colorado River. Beauitful Arizona!

Nate's Graduation

Waiting for Nate's Graduation to start. After Graduation Dr. Nathan Tranchell and Family Congratulations Dr. Nate!!! My silly opinion: I think that the wife should be able to put something before or after her name as well. I know Nate earned every bit of his degree but behind every great man is a great women. SO Hooray for Tiff for surviving medical school! Grams, Justin, Aubrie and Allie My sweet niece, Millie. I just love her to pieces! She is seriously the sweetest little thing. I love to listen to her and play with her. She is a total girly girl and makes things so much fun! Arizona

Nate, Justin's brother graduated from Medical School last weekend in Arizona. We drove down Thursday morning. Allie and Aubrie were so excited. Aubrie even woke up at 4:30a.m. just to make sure we left on time. The DRIVING FACE. We have laughed about this are whole 11 years of marriage. When Justin drives he can tune out everything and everyone. Kind of like when he watches TV. He has no expression but just a straight forward look! I love to talk while driving. I want to discuss things, analyze them, find the solution etc. Not Justin. When you drive, you drive! When you watch TV, you watch TV. You don't sit and chat about the show. Well I finally caught it on Camera! When I am mad that he is not listening or won't discuss things with me, or is just completely silent, I'll tell him, you have your driving face on and here it is! So glad they don't have the DRIVING FACE!!

Breakfast in Bed

Allie decided to make me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. After we realized what she was doing Justin decided he better go help her. It was a great day and I got a new scanner, copier, printer which I was way excited about!! Well I didn't get any pictures of Mother's day but Aubrie kept asking me when she would get breakfast in bed. I would tell her maybe tomorrow or the next day. I'm not sure exactly when it was but Allie woke up first and quietly said, Mom let's make Aubrie breakfast in bed. So for a week we had breakfast in bed. The girls got so excited about it! I am not always good at teaching my girls about manners, cleaniness or how to be quiet but I truly enjoy having fun with my girls. The best dollar I ever spent was on silly string. It amazes me how happy they can be with something as simple as bringing their cold cereal on a cookie sheet to there room! (And they didn't even spill!!! Can't say that for the kitchen table.)

Memorial Day

I'm not sure what we were celebrating that day, was it that we weren't dead or that we wished we were dead. Justin decided to take us on what I thought was going to be a nice family bike ride. Silly thinking! Justin pulled Aubrie in the trailer and Allie and I toughed it out on our bikes. Although, I have to admit Allie did a much better job then I. I whined and cried and walked most of it. Justin took us up to the top of Whiting's Campground. If any of you haven't been up there, take a nice Sunday drive up there and then just for a few seconds imagine it on a bike! IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!! I did enjoy the down hill where I rode the brake most of the way. So if any of you know what a nice family bike ride is, will you please take Justin along so he knows what it's like, otherwise we will continue to be in Biking Boot Camp!

FRACTURED or Not FRACTURED? that is the question!

On May 14th, we had just finished planting our garden behind mom's house. Justin had drove the truck and the girls and I had rode our bike to mom's house. Aubrie was on her Dora bike which still had training wheels because it was too tall to start by herself. Aubrie took off pretty fast, I could tell she was going to fast and told her to slow down she turned around and just kept turning until she fell. She fell really hard on the pavement. I could tell she was really hurt. Usually the girls, will jump up pretty quick if they are not hurt but she couldn't stop crying. We got home and I put her in Allie's sling. We got her ready for bed and decided to wait it out til morning. Around 2:00 a.m. she woke up just screaming. I went out to check on her and her arm was laying straight. Once I put her arm back up and propped it back on the pillow she slept the rest of the night. We took her to the doctor in the morning. He could tell it wasn't broken but it was possibly a fracture. He couldn't tell at first because it was on her growth plate. They decided to cast it and told us to come back in a week. She chose a red cast. The next morning was Saturday, her hand was swollen and very red. She complained about it hurting. We had to take her to the Instacare where they cut it. They wouldn't recast it there because we had to go back to the main doctor so Monday we went again to have it cast. This time she picked pink because Allie insisted that she have a pink cast since that was the color of her cast. We were told to come back in a week. After a week, the doctor could tell that it was a fracture. He also said that it was healing well but wanted to be safe so Aubrie chose purple. (She really wanted blue but mom made her choose between pink and purple) So three cast later, Aubrie rides her Dora bike now with no training wheels. Last week she rode her bike from our house to the Mapleton park and back. It is about 6 miles round trip!

Is it really possible?

How can it happen so quickly! The first day of school to the last day of school! She graduated Kindergarten with flying colors getting 100% on her assessment!

Circus Store

In kindergarten, they had a circus. At the circus was a store. Each child was asked to make 10 items from things at home such as a beautiful picture, a pipe cleaner ring, a painted rock etc. Each child was to label how much there item would cost ranging from a penny to five cents. Each child was to bring only 25 pennies so they could buy each others "Homemade Item". Allie and I discussed what she could make we came up with two bookmarks, a beaded necklace, a beaded braclet, a beaded ring, and 5 popsicle stick people. They turned out pretty cute even if the picture didn't quite turn out. After we took Allie to school, Aubrie begged me to help her make popsicle stick people. We made 4 of them. We called them Sam, Sally, Mike and Rose. We used them for school time. Rose had a flower in her hand, Sally had a heart, Sam had a flag and Mike had a star. She has played with them so much. We even took them to Arizona with us so she could play with them in the van. Unfortunately we lost Sam's flag and can't seem to find Rose. Hopefully they will turn up! They have become part of Aubrie's little family.

Mother's Tea

The Friday before Mother's Day, Allie had a Mother's Tea at her school. It was so cute. They sang us songs, told us a poem and read us a story. They made us a special gift(a flower in a milk carton) and a special card. We also ate cookies and strawberries. These are the pictures from the special day!!

I've missed blogging!

I left my camera battery charger at the hotel in California. After several attempts by hotel staff we were unable to find it. After searching stores, I finally found one on the internet. After ordering it, I received a phone call that "Cannon" was back order for six weeks. I don't think I missed my camera as much as I did then! I finally found another site and received my camera battery charger!! I was so glad since I could take it to Arizona with us. Unfortunately I realized I didn't take enough pictures!!! I also bought two disposable cameras and got the pictures back to blog about those. SO this post is to warn you I have a month of pictures to blog about so blogging here I come!!!
